The Middle Nolichucky Watershed Alliance protects the waters, land, and people of Greene County through on-the-ground projects, educational opportunities, and economic development.
We were formed because there is a need for environmental preservation in Greene County. Currently, 58 of 85 named streams in Greene County are listed on the EPA's impaired stream list. This means that more than half of the streams in Greene County are in critical need of protection. Because of this need to protect the streams of Greene County, a few committed individuals came together and formed the Middle Nolichucky Watershed Alliance. We continue to grow each year and are committed to protecting the Middle Nolichucky River Watershed!
